緑と土と海に囲まれた自然豊かな場所に自宅兼アトリエを構えるPLOW。様々な道具が雑多に並ぶ机の上から、唯一無二なジュエリーは生まれる。
パリに住んでいる時によく出かけた蚤の市。そこには、長い間大切にされてきた美しい古道具が売られていてモノを愛し、長く使うことが暮らしの中に根づいていた。そんなモノたちを見ていたらふと、身につける人が自分らしく輝き、幸福な歴史をつづりながらかけがえのない1点になっていくようなジュエリーを作りたいと思った。

PLOW has a home and atelier in a place surrounded by nature, greenery, soil, and sea.
A unique piece of jewellry is born from a desk full of miscellaneous tools.
A flea market that I often went to when I lived in Paris.
There beautiful old tools that have been cherished for a long time are sold, and loving things and using them for a long time is rooted in life.

PROJECTION OF NATURE
自然の投影

果てしなく広がる天空、移りゆく季節、伸びやかに育つ草木や花、頰を撫でる風、柔らかな日差し。私たちの周りに当たり前のように存在する自然には、様々なモチーフであふれています。美しい自然が持つ独特の質感や風合いを落とし込んだジュエリーは、不思議なほど肌にしっくりなじむ。ジュエリーの長い歴史の中で、自然の文物、つまり植物、動物、風景といったものがそのデザインの中心になったのは、18世紀後半に英国で始まった産業革命の頃から第一次世界大戦が終わる1920年前後までのことである。
「自然のモチーフを表現することが多いのは、幼少期から自然に親しんでいた経験からきています。休日に庭で草取りをしたり、海辺で石を探したりするのは、今でも私が大切にしている時間です。
コレクション“Essence stone（エッセンス ストーン）” は海辺で拾った小石にインスピレーションを感じて作ったジュエリー。
手に取ったまん丸の小石が心地よくて、お守りにしたいと思ったのがきっかけです」

In the long history of jewellry, natural objects such as plants, animals, and landscapes
have become central to its design from the industrial revolution that began in England in the late 18th century to the end of the First World War around 1920.
A designer of PLOW said “The fact that I often express motifs of nature comes from my experience of being close to nature since my childhood.
I still cherish the time to spend on holidays weeding the garden and looking for rocks on the beach.
The collection “Essence Stone” is jewellry inspired by pebbles picked up on the beach.
The perfect round pebble I picked up was comfortable, and I wanted to use it as a lucky charm.”

ADVANCED TECHNIQUES
高度な技術

ジュエリーという小さな小さなピースは、デザイナーの想いとクリエイティビティが詰まったアートのようで、着用するのはもちろん、眺めているだけでもその深い世界観に魅入られることがあります。ジュエリーという小さな世界に詰まった、長い歴史とそれにより大切に紡がれてきた伝統。こだわりのデザインとセッティングで仕立てたシンプルで研ぎ澄まされたデザインには、多くの職人たちの技がつまっています。その想いやイメージを伝えるためのデザインはもちろんですが、それを具現化するために、デザイナーは様々な技法を模索し、時に匠とも呼ばれる職人と手を取り合い、大切なピースを完成させます。
例えばデザイナーがパリの骨董屋で巡り合ったジュエリーに着想を得たアンティーク調の不均一な淡水パールが印象的なリング。パールの形が一つ一つ異なるので土台にぴったりとはめ込む作業がかなり高度なテクニックを要します。
「天然石は自分の目で1 つ1 つ選び抜き、石に深く刻まれた歴史と調和するようなデザインに仕上げています。同じ種類であっても自然の石には個体差があるので、それぞれに異なる表情を楽しめるのが魅力です」

She said “I always select each natural stone with my own eyes and create a design that harmonies with the history deeply engraved in the stone.
